We pride ourselves on providing "tooth coloured" composite restorations that look as close to the natural tooth as possible.
A composite restoration is a "tooth coloured" resin filling that sets using a curing light. This means that you can normally eat and drink straight away (unless you are numb, when it's usually better to wait until sensation has returned before attempting to eat)
We also provide "silver" amalgam restorations and there are some cases where this may be the more favourable option.
Crowns are normally used in cases where the tooth needs more protection than can be provided by a normal filling. A dental crown is sometimes better known as a "cap" for the tooth. It usually covers most of the tooth and can be tooth coloured or metal.
We provide a variety of crowns ranging from hand layered porcelain, for excellent aesthetics, to milled Zirconia, which is designed digitally and milled out of a solid block of Zirconia by a computerised milling machine. Zirconia is sometimes know as "ceramic-steel" due to its high fracture and wear resistance whilst still being tooth coloured.
A dental bridge can sometimes be used in cases where a Patient is missing one or more natural teeth. A bridge is a "floating false tooth" that is bonded to a tooth at either side.
